A lot more than 30,000 elk from the 7 or 8 herds that summer time around the block. Elk would be the second biggest from the deer family, and males can consider to 700 pounds and women about 500 pounds. Males, also known as bulls, grow antlers every year, who have from 6 to 8 points on both sides and may weigh a lot more than 30 pounds.

Bulls begin using these antlers throughout the mating season, known as the rut, to battle for the best to mate using the women within the fall. Bulls could be heard for miles "bugling" to draw in women. This love call is much more of the high-pitched whistle than the usual bugle, however the ladies appear to love it.
